SUMMARY:

The employment specialist position networks with employers, community leaders and local partners to develop job opportunities that meet the needs of all parties involved. The employment specialist works directly with program consumers to develop competitive employment positions with employers that are suitable for both the consumers and local community partners. The services provided are customized to fit the needs and desires of the client; including resume building, application assistance, coordinating/providing training for career development, long-term and transitional support for client to help maintain employment and mental health.

This position will be based out of HDC's Duluth CSP building and will serve St. Louis County. Coordinates with inter-disciplinary team consisting of Case Managers, ARMHS Providers, Therapists, Psychiatrists, etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

-  Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University;

-  or High School Diploma/GED and 1-2 years related direct experience and/or training;

-  or equivalent combination of education and experience.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

-  Experience in mental health, social services, or human services working with diverse populations.

-  Experience providing MFIP services and working knowledge of local businesses and job market.

-  Demonstrated ability in navigating social service resources, networking with business professionals, and effectively working on a team.
