SUMMARY:

Hiring several providers to work with the Mobile Crisis Response Team in Duluth and surrounding 30-mile radius. Crisis response services are provided to people of all ages. Through a partnership with First Call for Help (FCFH) Call Center and the Arrowhead Behavioral Health Network (ABHI), HDC's Crisis Response Team model includes: Face to face contact in the community with people facing a crisis situation, community outreach activities to build relationships of trust, collaboration with community providers, referrals to services of choice and assistance connecting with resource as desired, coordination and transportation, interventions and assistance to divert from law enforcement and emergency department involvement, and triage provided by FCFH Call Center.  The Crisis Response Team will strive to expand services and include input from the community and community providers to identify needs, develop goals, and plan for implementation of an effective model that mixes street outreach and crisis response. 


DUTIES:

-  Provide mobile crisis services in Duluth and surrounding communities (30-mile radius) as a member of the Crisis Response Team.

-  Providers respond to community locations when dispatched by FCFH and are available in the community to aid and support in pre-crisis or urgent situations when a person is at risk for a higher level of intervention, such as police or emergency services.

-  Services are delivered 24/7; providers work on rotating shifts. Duties also include community engagement, participation in community events, and participation in learning opportunities (i.e., self-awareness and attitude, active listening skills, cultural awareness and knowledge, housing first, and harm reduction practices). 


 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

-  HS or equivalent and experience in human services or a related field and/or lived experience.

-  Ability to engage and provide services to a diverse population.

-  Possesses an attitude of compassion, integrity, person-centered care, inclusivity, understanding of the unique needs of each person, strong communication skills, and ability to perform duties satisfactorily.

-  Knowledge of resources available in the community and regionally.

-  This position also requires reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

-  Persons with lived experience, Certified Peer Specialist, Recovery Specialist, mental health, and chemical health experience providing direct services to people in Duluth and/or surrounding communities, familiarity with local resources for adults, children, and families.
