DUTIES: Insurance and client billing: Preparing, reviewing, approving, and mailing CMS1500s/invoices to various insurance companies; reviewing, releasing and submitting electronic claims; reviewing and mailing client statements; processing and balancing insurance and client payments in the patient billing system. Other duties may include verifying eligibility, following up on overdue or denied insurance claims; following up on missing prior authorizations; responding to client phone calls with account questions, preparing other miscellaneous billings, recording receipts and preparing deposits, collecting on past due accounts; other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

-  Moderate knowledge of health insurance plans.

-  1-3 years' experience working with health insurance and an understanding of common health insurance terminology.

-  High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months of related experience.

-  Typing 35 WPM, 10-key, good communication skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

-  One to 3 years experience, knowledge or related training of health insurance, experience working with the public, ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, ability to prioritize workload, knowledge of insurance and claims/billing, good communication skills.

-  Ability to work independently and as a team member.
