Salary: $25.08 - $31.77 Per Hour (Dependent upon Experience) - *Hiring Bonus Totaling $3,000 for fully licensed providers*

SUMMARY:  The Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) will provide direct outpatient substance use disorder counseling and support to individuals and families experiencing addiction, and will assist the program director with all aspects of outpatient treatment program operations. The LADC will provide individual, family, and group addiction counseling, and will also be responsible for working with and providing education to a diverse population of individuals, families, and groups within the community. The LADC will have working relationships and be familiar with other service providers and community resources, and will be able to provide information and support, and make referrals to best meet client need.


DUTIES: 

- The LADC will work within an outpatient setting to conduct substance use disorder screenings, intakes, treatment orientation, chemical dependency assessments, treatment planning, addictions counseling, case management, crisis intervention, client and community based education, referrals, confidential documentation and record keeping, and consultation with other professionals in regard to client treatment and services.  

- The LADC will be responsible for accepting referrals and providing education and counseling to a diverse population of individuals, families, and groups, including high risk populations such as pregnant women, youth, IV drug users, and clients dually diagnosed with substance use and mental health disorders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

- Bachelor's degree in a human service-related field and licensed with the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor or ability to be licensed after completion of a practicum.  

- Has reliable transportation, proof of vehicle insurance, and valid driver's license.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

- 1 year or more related substance use disorder counseling experience. 

- Experience working with dual diagnosis and knowledge of resources in Carlton County.
